Dev Log 10: 2021-11-28

We've got some feedback in our Beta presentation on November 24th. Here's a compiled list of what we've got:

  • Might be better to have one player instead of two.
  • Constraints on how much a player can move away from the platform and to the other side.
  • Show how much a player is pushing a corner and by how much.
  • A more comical style would make failure more tolerable.
  • Make the ball more floaty to lend to the cartoonish side.
  • Focus on the communication between players.

In our current build, all our levels (excluding the tutorial level) use torches as diegetic lighting instead of the Unity sky lighting that we've used before.

We have a character select screen now, which allows each player to modify their character's color, cosmetics (hat and belt, equip or unequip).

All the SFX except for the ball's rolling sound are implemented.

We're in the process or rehauling the traps to force more synchronization and communication between players.

We're also going to rebind characters to the platform, with a small wiggle room. Instead of having the players move freely in any direction, unconstrained by the platform.

As always, we'll experiment and try incorporating this feedback into our build. You should see what makes the cut in our later Devlogs and builds.

You can find our beta build that got the feedback above attached below.
