Dev Log 4: 2021-10-10

This is a Devlog sandwiched between our tech demo and design document milestones

Our build is mostly similar to what's been presented in the tech demo video: Two players holding the plank, balancing a ball, which was a cube in the video because the ball rolled too much and was hard to control. The two players are controlled via two different controllers. Each player can raise and lower one corner of the platform. Every player is currently responsible for two corners of the platform.

Our Build is buggy and doesn't play that nicely. If players get too close, the platform flips/flies and glitches out. Players can move too far away without any restrictions.

Our progress this week compared to the last is getting the ball to roll correctly, have two controllable players attached to the platform.

We used spring joints to attach the players to the platform, and we're suspecting that is the culprit for most of our problems.

Our Centennial team are working on a character model, some environment models like trees, walls, and some props. Currently the main character is semi-finished, and everything else is also progressing nicely. Parts of this should be incorporated into our next build, and the next dev log.

The yarn ball changed from a yarn to just an artifact, as our main character module doesn't resemble a cat anymore.

The lore and models are subject to change again as things develop.
